Support the Quincetitute

Dear Quince Friends, Family, and Fans,

It’s finally happening! For years, we’ve been dreaming and scheming about a way to share our craft with more singers, and at long last, we’re ready to launch our summer Quince-titute in July 2023 at the University of Washington.

What is it? It’s a weeklong workshop and hang in Seattle, focused on the things that make Quince special - ensemble singing, improvisation, extended techniques, electronics - culminating in a performance exclusively featuring the 2023 workshop attendees singing pieces by Liz Gre, John Cage, Abby Betinis, Gilda Lyons, Evan Williams, LJ White, and more! Plus, our 2023 Guest Artist, Paul Pinto, will be joining us for some performances and talks too!

This work is more important than ever, since many (especially young) singers lost two years of opportunity to sing together and learn in person. We’re setting out to make 2023 shine bright for singers in all stages of their development!

ACCESS is a top priority, and you can help! Our end-of-year appeal is dedicated to creating a scholarship fund, so that as many of the invited singers as possible can do so, regardless of means. We have already made the tuition as lean as possible, and a donation in any amount is incredibly meaningful, but as an added incentive, we’re offering the opportunity for any donor who gives $500 or more to name their scholarship whatever they wish. Here are some humble suggestions:

·       The Special Scholarship for One Badass Singer

·       Max Patches 4Eva Scholarship

·       The Fund for Ingressive Vocalizing

·       The Kittysaurus Rex Shaw Fellowship for Cat Lovers

Thanks for all your support. We can’t wait to tell you all about our workshop AND the rest of our intense season of premieres!

Xoxo

Quince
